Severe Weather Could Make Your Ride Home A Bit Tricky
It looks like the ride home this afternoon could get a bit tricky because of expected severe weather today.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo is calling for two rounds of severe weather today that will include heavy rain and possible strong thunderstorms.
We all know how people across Western New York forget how to drive when it rains, so your commute home today could be a slow go compared to normal.
The first round of severe weather is expected to move across Western New York starting around 3 o'clock this afternoon. The weather system is expected to stay south of Niagara County with much of the storm and possible hail coming in the Buffalo metro area and south. This round is expected to last until 10 tonight which means if you are headed to any Friday night sports like Football, soccer, or field hockey you should bring some raingear and get ready for possible weather-related game delays.
The next round of severe weather is expected to move across Western New York after midnight which means your pets will probably be sleeping in your bed if strong storms bring loud thunder and lightning strikes.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, the severe weather could bring damaging winds gusts, large hail, and a chance of a possible tornado.
The rain will also continue through the weekend as we are expected to see showers and thunderstorms both on Saturday and Sunday. We will also see a cooldown due to the latest weather front with a high of only 57 expected for Sunday.
