Thinking about shipping some gifts to your family somewhere across the country?  How long do you have before it will show up late?

It happens every year.  You come up with a perfect gift for your niece who lives five states over.  You plan it all out.  You know it has to go in the mail and you'll get to it soon.  Then before you know it, it's just a couple of days before Christmas and you've forgotten to get it shipped again.

Don't let it happen this year.  Thanksgiving and Black Friday are later than they usually are this year.  So there is going to be very little turn around time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  It will be here before you know.

What are the dates you need to know for shipping through the USPS?

The recommendations from the United States Postal Service are listed below.  But keep in mind that when things get busy, shipping can get delayed.  You're better off getting it in the mail early and letting it sit at their house for a few days than to wait and take the chance that you'll miss the day.

The other two states (Alaska and Hawaii) have different shipping dates
