2 Suspects Arrested For Attempted Murder In Overnight Shooting In Buffalo
Two suspects have been arrested in an overnight shooting on Hennepin Street in Buffalo. Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that a 21-year-old and a 20-year-old were arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Jenelle Faso on the morning of Thursday, February 10, 2022. Jesse McClure and Liam Valentin, both of Buffalo, were arraigned on:
One count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a violent felony
One count of Assault in the First Degree, a violent felony
One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a violent felony
Both suspects allegedly tried to murder a 49-year-old male victim just after midnight the same morning. They shot the victim with an illegal gun while he was sitting in a parked car on Hennepin Street in Buffalo. They were arrested on Bailey Avenue. Police found the illegal weapon in a backpack.
The victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries. He remains hospitalized. Both McClure and Valentin are due back in court on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 9:30 am. Both suspects are being held without bail. They are each facing a maximum of 25 years behind bars if convicted.
There has been an uptick in shootings recently, including the incident at McKinley High School yesterday, Wednesday, February 9.
