Gun violence has slowed down in Buffalo this year, but it's still way too high. So far this year, there have been at least 22 people killed in deadly shootings in Buffalo alone. Last year, the total number of residents killed by gunfire was at least 56. The violence is affecting communities of color. Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said,

People are getting shot and killed in communities of color here in Buffalo.

Hopefully, we'll be able to end this year with a significantly lower number of fatal shootings. Too many families have lost their loved ones due to senseless violence. Our young people are dying and going to prison for life over trivial disagreements and stupid decisions.
