Slow Roll Cancels Tonight, Will Be Doing This Instead
Every Monday, the Slow Roll gets everyone in Western New York to join together to take a bike ride through the City of Buffalo. All of these rides are in neighborhoods, you may not have visited before so the Slow Roll gives you the opportunity to appreciate other places in the City.
Now, tonight the scheduled Slow Roll will take a turn and not do a ride tonight.
Instead, at this week's host site, Em Tea Coffee Cup Cafe on Oakgrove Avenue, the Slow Roll will be distributing groceries for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods in the wake of the shooting in Buffalo.
Where can you donate to help Buffalo? Where can I drop off the food in Buffalo after the shooting on Saturday? If you can donate any food, supplies, or money, the Slow Roll will be accepting donations at 80 Oakgrove between 12 and 6 pm. Then, the Slow Roll will have volunteers help distribute food from 5 pm to 8 pm (or until the supplies run out).
The African American Heritage Food Co-Op and Lexington Co-Op are partnering with the Slow Roll to assist in donations and distribution.
EXTRA: The President of the United States and the First Lady announced on Sunday afternoon that they will be coming to Buffalo, New York to grieve with the Buffalo community.
Jill and I pray for the victims, their families and devastated community from yesterday’s mass shooting in Buffalo, New York. Our hearts are heavy once again but our resolve must not waver; we must work together to address the hate that remains a stain on the soul of this nation, the President wrote on Twitter.
