If you are really into the spooky destinations around Western New York, here is one that you definitely need to check off of your list. Actually, it isn't even in Western New York, but it is not too far away.

Have you ever heard of the 'Screaming Tunnel'? It is located on Niagara On The Lake right off of Warner Road.

Many thrill-seekers go here to hear the scary ghost that apparently lives in the 1800s limestone tunnel.

There is a tunnel that goes underneath some railroad tracks in Ontario, Canada, where there were a bunch of farms that were thriving in the 1800s.

Several tunnels needed to be built so that water could be drained away from the tracks and also, farmers could safely transport supplies and equipment without having to go over the railroad tracks. The legend of the 'Screaming Tunnel' is that there was a massive barn fire and one local farmer's daughter tried to escape, but the flames were too much and she died underneath the bridge.

(There are some different folktale stories regarding how the girl passed away, but all end with the young girl burning.

Legend has it that if you stand in the middle of the tunnel and light a match the young girl will blow it out and she will scream. There have been some people who say that they can hear screams right away.
