Spring Guide: 9 Things People Look Forward To In Western New York
We still have some time left in winter, but it's never too early to start getting ready for spring in Western New York.
Winter is long in Western New York. It feels like it begins in October and goes straight through April. If it gets to be May and the snow is pretty well melted, it feels like a win to us. So often, we tend to look right past all the great things that happen in the spring and start wishing for summer as soon as January gets here.
This year though, the groundhog didn't see his shadow, so we're looking forward to an early spring and everything that comes with it.
There are so many fun things that happen before it gets warm in Western New York. Sometimes half of the fun is being able to be outside to experience the crisp cool days. When you think about things like Dyngus Day and St. Patrick's Day celebrations, you need to ask yourself, "Would this be as fun if it was super hot out?" or does the cool brisk air make it a little more fun?
In Buffalo, we celebrate ethnic holidays even if we aren't from the countries where they came from. We eat all the food and we drink all the drinks and we celebrate the new season. We love to make holidays our own. We work hard, so we party hard and party hard season is right around the corner.
