The Reason Steve Tasker HATES Harry Connick Jr.
It's not healthy to carry a grudge, much less to carry one for over 30 years. But Steve Tasker has been holding onto one for that amount of time over actor and singer Harry Connick Jr. Here's the story of why Tasker admits that to this day, he still hates him. (Spoiler: It's not because of how he sings)
It's pretty well documented that the Buffalo Bills were able to do what no other team has been able to do in the '90s. They went to four straight Super Bowls. The first was against the Giants, followed by the Redskins for their second attempt. The final two were both against the Cowboys.
In the second Super Bowl against Washington, things started off poorly right away for the Bills as their Hall of Fame running back, Thurman Thomas, was sidelined. He wasn't injured. It wasn't part of the game plan. He couldn't play because his helmet was missing. They had taken them off for the national anthem and when Thurman set his down, it disappeared. He wasn't able to find it until the first couple of plays had already gone by.
Tasker explains what happened to Thurman's helmet
How does that happen? Recently on an episode of "Peyton's Places" with Peyton Manning, Steve Tasker claims that it was Harry Connick Jr.'s fault that the helmet disappeared.

Harry Connick Jr. was singing the national anthem that year before the game, and Tasker says that it was one of the musicians with him who moved Thurman's helmet. He says they "needed the space," and after moving his helmet, they "left it there."
