Stimulus Checks Could Hit Bank Accounts as Soon as Today

One of the biggest stories over the past two or three weeks has been the second stimulus package that was signed by President Donald Trump this past Sunday. The package is $900 billion and includes $600 direct payments to most Americans.

You probably imagined the stimulus payment to be deposited in the next two or three weeks but those payments should be hitting bank accounts much sooner.

According to WKBW, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Tuesday that some Americans should be receiving their stimulus checks as soon as tonight (Tuesday into Wednesday).

Mnuchin said the payments would be deposited into accounts, “as early as tonight and will continue into next week.”

That would be for those who have direct deposit, however. The department will be sending out paper checks on Wednesday, which will take a little longer to get to people.

If you make between $75,000 and $87,000, and $150,000 and $174,000 for couples, then the check will be purported. Over $87,000 will be no stimulus payment. Couples who make less than $150,000 will receive $1,200.

For every child under 17, it will be an additional $600. Some young adults who were claimed as dependents will not receive a stimulus check.
