Students Going Back in AUGUST to New York State Public Schools
Some New York State schools are starting to adopt a new schedule for Summer vacation and some parents are thrilled while others are not happy about the new schedule.
Some districts are following suit in New York State and starting school in August rather than September. For example, the the William Floyd School District has a different start date for different grades but the high school starts on August 30th this year.
More districts end summer vacation in August and have the kids return before the start of September. In Western New York, many of the kids go back to school in September. Some of the reason that the kids in Western New York go back to school so late is because they have so many days. Some teachers have suggested that they would like to go back in August so that graduation dates are not so late in the year.
There could be changes of districts having more graduations in MAY and EARLY JUNE, which is 2 to 4 weeks more than usual. That would allow districts in New York State to go back to school in the middle or end of August.
