Surprising Post Announcing Local Farm Market Closing After Nearly 40 Years
They have been in business as a farm market for 36 years, and they just announced that as of Friday, another group will be doing business there.
If you've lived in the south towns of Western New York for any amount of time, no doubt you've heard the name "Zittle." The Zittle family has been growing in Eden for over 120 years. The Zittle's Country Market has been in the Hamburg area for nearly 40 years. They have sold flowers, plants, produce, and even some gardening supplies. That will all be coming to a halt at that location though, as they made the announcement that another group will be taking over.
It's sad news to see a local farm market closing their doors. Although, they didn't give the reason why they would be moving on from the store front on Southwestern Boulevard. And the good news is that they're still going to continue their tradition from the farm in Eden.
When my kids were little we used to always go to Zittles every year to hear them talk about the difference in corn we eat, and the corn we decorate. We would take pictures by their huge inflatable pumpkin and make our way through their haybale maze. Of course we would pick out a pumpkin there to take home and carve too. It was always an educational experience for the kids and great to grab a fall treat too.
Busy Beaver Lawn & Garden is based out of Cheektowaga and will be taking over the operations at the country market in Hamburg. They plan to offer the same goods and services and even add some.
