The Buffalo Sabres led three times against the Calgary Flames Tuesday night only to see the Flames come back to tie each time. The Sabres never trailed, until the final goal of the game was scored in overtime as the Flames won 4-3. It keeps the Sabres winless in Calgary since 2003.
Give credit to those dedicated Buffalo Sabres fans who continue to buy tickets and attend games because the Sabres occasionally do reward that dedication by actually winning a game or two. Thursday night against the Calgary Flames they even provided a bonus by scoring more goals than had in the previous five games combined.
The Buffalo Sabres return home on Friday after a disappointing western road trip where they lost all three games. Thursday night in Calgary the Sabres twice came back to tie the game only to allow a go-ahead goal by the Flames in the final five minutes to fall 4-3.
Matt Moulson scored twice, Tyler Ennis set up three goals and Jonas Enroth stopped 42 shots in a 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames. And now the Sabres have won 6 of their last 7 games on home ice and 8 of their last 11 overall.
When the new ownership team of the Buffalo Sabres came to Buffalo, they wanted to make sure that the entire NHL looked at this city as "Hockey Heaven." Their goal was for players to WANT to come here to play hockey. Just a couple months after that statement, a player has waived a no-trade clause in his contract to come here.
Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings made 27 saves in Monday night's win over the Calgary Flames. One of those saves was a bit out of the ordinary as you will see in the video below.
