There is no lack of great holes to fish in Western New York for trout!

The WNY Outdoor Sport and Travel Expo is going on this weekend through Sunday at the Event Center on The Hamburg Fairgrounds.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. Wise words. This weekend, you have an opportunity to do it for free!

If you fish on a regular basis you know that Western New York offers some of the best fishing in the world! From small mouth bass to trout, the Buffalo-Niagara area is loaded with great fishing as you can see in this video.

Last weekend, many of us on the WYRK staff were able to head out on Lake Ontario to do some fishing.  Some of us had a rough day fishing...

On Friday, August 11th WYRK personalities Clay Moden, Liz Mantel, Brett Alan and Wendy Lynn competed in our first ever fishing tournament. Lynn, Rob, Rick and Ed were assigned to each of our boats and competed for cash prizes! Lynn (on Liz Mantel's boat) took the top prize bringing in the most fish as well as the largest catch of the day...

The popular phrase is, "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work," but let's be honest, fishing is much more fun when you get a few on the line.  You might have a little more luck with this new map.

After record rainfall on Thursday, the roads were flooding just about everywhere! I had a pole (actually Hank's Spider Man pole) and my fishing license on me...so why not cast a line in the city??
