I say it's a great idea.

New York State is hoping to make hunting and fishing part of your kid's high school physical education classes in the near future. Now, this is not the first time this has been proposed in NYS--it has passed in the Senate, but never the Assembly. Minority Leader Brian Kolb is a co- sponsor of the idea this time around.

A student, with this information, might not ever go hunting or fishing, but might develop leanings toward protecting the natural recourses we are so blessed to have in our state. This opens up a whole wide spectrum of knowledge and opportunities", Kolb says according to WGRZ.

It's a great opportunity for kids to learn about the safety of hunting and fishing, the environment, the type of game and fish that are available around the state and more. Some groups argue that not all kids like to hunt and fish, but when I saw this I immediately thought, "not all kids love hockey or soccer", but that is the point of gym class. Right?

Should it become part of a high schoolers' phys. ed?
