We celebrated Flag Day on Wednesday by making several stops around the area to give away free American flags courtesy of Ace Flag. From Amherst to Clarence to Cheektowaga and even a visit to an elementary school parade we put flags into the hands of hundreds of people.

She was born, raised and educated in Buffalo and beginning in 1864 she began a 30-year teaching career at school 31 on Emslie Street until she was appointed principal of the school – a job she held for another 20 years. While she was a teacher – she thought kids should know about the American flag and know what it stands for, so she taught them how to pay respect to th
