Each week we recognize and honor the soldiers who are fighting for our freedom or have done their time and helped to protect us in the past. Along with that, we recognize that it takes a huge sacrifice from the family as well. This week, we recognize 20-year-old Marine Corporal David Liskiewicz as our Hometown Hero!

Here's another reminder of how grateful we should be to the men and women who serve our country.

It's been years since the government was shut down. Nonetheless, it's happened again. As of last night at midnight, our government is officially shut down. So what does that mean? It means that essential parts of our government are still active, but many services, such as parks and monuments, will be unavailable to the public.
