Fans at several high school football around the Buffalo area have been impacted by fights and unruly behavior from fans and players.

New Era Field will host a 3-game regular season series of games featuring Buffalo-area Catholic League teams.  The first one is a featured rivalry game between St. Joe's and Canisius on Friday, September 28th.

Schools with new turf fields this year are Cheektowaga, North Tonawanda and Lockport.

The annual High School Football All-Star game was held on Wednesday night in Depew. In front of a large crowd of fans, the South beat the North Team in a rather low scoring game, 13-6.

While watching a football game most people watch the ball.  Whether it's the quarterback throwing it to a receiver or a running back trying to elude tacklers, most fans concentrate on what's happening with the ball.  But there's a part of the game that often gets overlooked; the play of the linemen, the guys in the trenches.

High school football - It's what we used to LIVE for when I lived in Springville.  It was with good reason.  It was exciting to get out on that field on a friday night under the lights.  People would talk about the chances of a championship at the barber shop and at the grocery store.  This is my hometown.
