Buffalo has been without a permanent bishop in the diocese since the controversial departure of Bishop Malone about a year ago. Today the diocese has been appointed a new bishop.

A Western New York church has become just the third church in the Buffalo Catholic Diocese to be designated a basilica.  Pope Francis earlier this week granted the honor to St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean.

After the Pope made comments about building walls, which many assumed was a dig at Donald Trump, the Donald had more than just words for the Pope. Check out "Mean" by "Donald Trump". LOL! Okay, so maybe this isn't really penned by Donald Trump, but it's hilarious none the less...

I attended Catholic school for most of my education. Elementary school at Immaculate Conception in East Aurora, NY, and Canisius College in Buffalo. Being a twin, it would have been too hard for my parents to pay for my sister and I to attend a private high school while my eldest sister was in college. Faith in the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) have been a part my life since baptism.

I know it's not PC to talk about religion but it's actually becoming hard NOT to with Pope Francis.  He's incredibly charismatic.  He is real.  He is what humans should be to one another.  And now, he can spin a basketball on his finger thanks to The Harlem Globetrotters.

Some very important people are keeping busy trying to show the world they’re just like everybody else.

Regardless of your religion, it's always a good thing to see one person be compassionate to another person. When someone is down, it's awesome to see someone even try to lift them up. Granted, this is the job of the Pope. But, to see a leader do what they preach is incredibly powerful.
