Buffalo Bills Offense Catches a Break Against the Steelers

The Buffalo Bills are 24 hours away from their first 1 pm home game of the 2022 regular season. The Bills will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon from Highmark Stadium. The game will be the last 1 pm home game for the Bills until the second week of November.

The Bills will be shorthanded (again) for this game, as the team announced on Friday that safety Jordan Poyer, tight end Dawson Knox, cornerback Christian Benford, wide receiver Jake Kumerow and wide receiver Jamison Crowder will all miss with injuries.

Defensive tackled Ed Oliver and Jordan Phillips remain questionable, as does linebacker, Tremaine Edmunds.

The Steelers will also have starters missing.

We know that T.J. Watt will miss week 5, and he's arguably the best defensive player in the NFL. On Saturday, Pittsburgh also declared out another defensive starter.

Safety Terrell Edmunds is now declared out for Sunday's game against the Bills.

Edmunds is the brother of Tremaine and like his brother, was also a first round pick.

The Steelers will have starters Cam Heyward and Minkah Fitzpatrick, but not having Watt and Edmunds will hurt against a pass-heavy Bills team.

Isaiah McKenzie might not play for the Bills, as he's still in concussion protocol. If he doesn't play, that means rookie Khalil Shakir will be the number three receiver and primary slot option for quarterback Josh Allen. Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis will play on the outside.

Expect the Bills to elevate wide receivers from the practice squad, including Isaiah Hodgins and Tanner Gentry. Hodgins likely plays no matter what and if McKenzie is out, that likely means Gentry is active as well.
