The Toronto Blue Jays have been playing home games at Sahlen Field in Buffalo since June 1st. That's with fans -- the Blue Jays also played home games in Buffalo last summer, without fans in attendance.

It's been a fun ride so far and I still think it's surreal that a MLB team is in Buffalo playing regular season games.

However, that looks like it could soon come to an end as WIVB is reporting that the Blue Jays have received municipal and provincial approval to return to Toronto and are seeking final approval from the Canadian Government.

An application has been submitted to federal officials in Canada and Sportsnet and The Athletic first reported the new developments on the Blue Jays possibly returning home soon.

Right now, the Blue Jays are committed to playing in Buffalo at Sahlen Field through July 21st. The next home stand after that begins on July 30th against the Kansas City Royals and the hope is to return to Rogers Centre in Toronto by that game.

18 home games have been played at Sahlen Field so far and it's been an amazing experience for fans in attendance. Not only to have Major League Baseball in Buffalo but also because this is really the first time since the pandemic began that fans could go to a professional sporting event in Buffalo. It's almost the signal that things are back to normal and it's funny that a team from Toronto is the team we're celebrating that with.

If July 21st is the last home game, it's been a great ride. I'm not complaining.
