The Buffalo Bills got to their 53-man roster by this morning, although it was surely a chaotic day for One Bills Drive on Tuesday.

The Bills had to release 27 total players before 4 pm on Tuesday to get to 53 players. Any player who was not a vested veteran (four years or more in the NFL), meant that they had to go through waivers.

The NFL policy with the waiver wire is any team can claim a player on waivers (before noon today) but doing so, that player has to be placed on that team's active roster. If a player clears waivers, they are free to sign with any team.

The Bills ended up losing three players to the waiver wire, with two of them recent draft picks.

Cornerback Alex Austin and offensive lineman Nick Broeker were both claimed by the Houston Texans today. Safety Zayne Anderson was claimed by the Green Bay Packers.

Austin was a 7th round pick of the Bills in 2023, while Broeker was a 7th round pick of Buffalo in 2022. It's a blow to the Bills, who likely wanted both on the team's practice squad this afternoon.

The Bills have not yet released their practice squad roster yet, but according to a flurry of reports, DT Eli Ankou, wide receiver Andy Isabella and tight end Joel Wilson are all being brought back on the Bills' practice squad.

We should get a full list of who was brought back by general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott later today.
