The Pencil Project Helps One More Teacher For 2019

Sgroi Financial & WYRK teamed up to reward some of the hardest-working yet under-appreciated members of our community — teachers! We wanted to provide school supplies to teachers who may not get the support they need to effectively teach in their school with the Pencil Project.

Two lucky teachers were selected to win $750 towards their classrooms. The idea is to cover an educator who needs school supplies, classroom decorations, classroom pizza parties or field trips. This $750 from Sgroi Financial is theirs to make their job and the classroom experience for their students that much better this year.

The response was overwhelming. WNYers from all across the area nominated teachers — over 1,100 nominations rolled in, with more than 100 school districts represented. In fact, the response was SO overwhelming that Sgroi Financial decided that they would reach out and help one more teacher. Since so many educators in WNY utilize Sgroi Financial's services, they wanted to extend a helping hand to one of those teachers they've built a relationship with.
