The William C. Edmund Fire Company Is This Week’s Volunteer Fire Company Of The Week

Time to salute some more of Western New York's Hometown Heroes: The William C. Edmund Fire Company. Firefighter Heather Hyde shares their story:

Our company was established in 1936 by William C. Edmund and a few other supporters.   Located in East Otto, in Cattaraugus County, we are a small company of about 30 active members.  We may only have about 70 calls a year, but our response time averages between 5 & 7 minutes.  We have 5 trucks in our fire hall.  Our newest to be added is a pumper.  The others include a tanker, mini pumper, a service van, and of course the ambulance.  Our close knit community supports all of our fundraisers, including chicken bbq's, ham & turkey raffles and newly added gun raffles.  Our volunteers put in so much time and effort to help keep our community, and our surrounding communities safe.  More pictures can be found on facebook, under EastOtto FireDept.
