21 Movie Theaters We Loved As Kids In Western New York
When you think of nice-weather activities, some people might think of spending time outside soaking up the sun. But for some of us, we think of sitting in the dark, munching on fake-buttered popcorn, watching a movie in our favorite local theater.
A lot of parents are big fans of taking their kids and friends to the movies. For one thing, you could count on the movie theater to have free air-conditioning - a life saver during a hot summer.
Second, it used to cost just a few bucks (well, back in the day anyway - don’t get us started on how expensive going to the movies is now).
Third and most importantly - if you’re a parent taking your kids to the movies, that massive screen has the potential to keep them entertained, while Mom and Dad can get a couple of hours of much-needed peace.
Everyone has a favorite movie theater where we spent a chunk of our childhood. When asked on Facebook what the best movie theater to go to as a kid was, Western New Yorkers responded with passion, naming their favorite theaters from Niagara Falls to Rochester.
Some of those theaters are long gone; some of them you might drop by this weekend. But all of them bring back serious nostalgia and the excitement of going to the movies with our family and friends.
