This Is Last Chance For New York State Turkey Hunters
As we get ready to start the summer fishing season, there is a last request from New York State for those who turkey hunt.
The west spring made it tough to get outside and enjoy anything this year. However, while it did rain a good deal, the turkey Hunting season seemed to be a success for some.
If you love to hunt in New York State, York insight is very helpful for future hunting and conservation.

The spring turkey season is over and now many of us are dreaming of being in the woods this fall to get a shot at a whitetail deer. The fawns are born and the racks are growing on the bucks! It is exciting to dream of what is coming in the fall of this year.
But as responsible hunters, we have an obligation to make sure that we report back to New York State about our harvests.
According to an email that hunters received from New York State, this is the final call to fill out an important survey.
In the email it was noted that: "Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey (~5 minutes), even if you did not hunt turkey during the 2025 spring turkey season. Respond by June 15th to ensure your response is recorded".
The New York State DEC ask that you check your email if you have a hunting license to see that you received the survey. Also, you can report other turkey sightings in the summer to the NYSDEC website starting in August.
The first thing you will notice is that the survey asks about hunting in the youth hunt. This is a Greta way to introduce kids to the outdoors and the sport of hunting while showing them the need for conservation of the turkey that we have. My kids are just a few years out from being old enough to participate and I can't wait to get them in the woods.
