Stop me if you've heard this before. The Buffalo Sabres lost "again."

Yes, the Sabres lost once again to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night, 4-0. The Sabres played with general manager Kevyn Adams behind the bench serving as head coach with interim head coach Don Granato and assistant Mat Ellis in COVID-19 protocol.

They now haven't won in 16 consecutive games, which is beyond amazing in and of itself, but that's not even the most mesmerizing stat of the season.

With the 4-0 defeat on Thursday, Buffalo has now been shut out seven times this regular season in just 32 games. They've won six games this season!

That's right, the Sabres have been shut out more often than they have won in 2021....

Captain Jack Eichel has missed the last eight games due to injury and the goaltending is in shambles right now. Both Linus Ullmark and Carter Hutton are hurt. Jonas Johansson (who has not been good this season when called upon) was traded to the Colorado Avalanche last week, so AHL journeyman Dustin Tokarski has been in net the last two games for Buffalo.

The Sabres next play in Boston against the Bruins at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Their next home game is on Monday at 7 p.m. against the Philadelphia Flyers.

This is literally the worst NHL hockey team I have ever seen in my life, and I've been watching the Sabres and the rest of the league for the last 20 years. It's truly remarkable how bad they are and every time I think there's no possible way things can get worse, they do.
