The sun is out (mostly) and the warm temperatures are here to stay in Western New York for the next couple of months, which means 'concert season is now in full gear.

You probably know about the full schedule at Six Flags Darien Lake amphitheater, along with small shows scattered throughout the region this summer, but there's a big music festival happening in Western New York later this summer and it spans three full days.

The WNY Country Music Festival has been trying to get their event to happen since the start of 2020, but because of the pandemic, couldn't happen last year. This year, after some maneuvering, they have finally announced a set venue and dates for the festival.

The WNY Country Music Festival will take place in Akron, NY at The Backlot Entertainment Venue at Brauns Concert Cove. The dates will be August 20-22.

There are still details to be worked out with an exact lineup, but you should expect many local country artists and bands to be performing over the course of the three days.

Hopefully, this event can happen every year, too. It's such a shame that Jam In The Valley will no longer happen, but I'm excited there are people with a passion for live country music to continue with organized festivals that will make many fans happy.

This post will be updated when more information is made known.
