They're loud and they're fast.  As you watch these racing boats virtually skim across the water you can feel their power as you stand on the shore.  And some of these boats reach speeds of 170 mph.

The 13th annual Thunder on the Niagara continues on Sunday at Gratwick Park in North Tonawanda.  The event is free, but parking at Gratwick Park is $10.00 with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Twin Cities Community Outreach.  You'll also receive a free racing program.

70 race teams have entered the weekend events sponsored by the Niagara Frontier Boat Racing Association.  The event is part of the Hydroplane Racing League in what is considered one of the league's biggest events of the year.

In addition to a full day of racing, members of the Frontier Skydivers will "drop in" around noon on Sunday.  Food and cold drinks are available, plus a car show and craft vendors.

Organizers ask that you use the Ward Road entrance to Gratwick Park.
