Tom Hiddleston is an Emmy-nominated actor as of this morning (July 14), but more importantly he is Taylor Swift's new boyfriend, and their love is good and right and real.

During an interview about his nomination for his role on AMC's The Night Manager ("It feels fantastic," he said), Tom was asked about the legitimacy of his relationship with Taylor. He mercifully confirmed that their union -- sickeningly sweet and over-publicized though it may -- is the real deal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Well, um. How best to put this?," he began, when asked how he would respond to the conspiracy theory that his newfound romance is all for show. "That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy. Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."

Of course, official confirmation that Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift are involved in a romantic relationship isn't exactly necessary at this point. Several photo ops and joint trips around the globe have made it abundantly clear to the general public that Tom and Taylor are Totally Together.

But speculation that their union is a mere publicity stunt has built steadily, ever since those first photos of the couple began circulating online two weeks after she and Calvin Harris broke up, causing several observers to invoke the question of, “Did Taylor move on a little too swiftly?”

It’s a question mired in misogyny — not everyone needs to participate in some arbitrary grace period of mourning faded love, after all. But the timing did feel a little suspect, as did the influx of photos and news stories we have been beaten over the head with that may or may not have been planted by Taylor's team.

In any case, one-half of Hiddleswift has spoken out and confirmed their love is true. Head over to The Hollywood Reporter to read up on Tom's answer, and also find out how honored he is to be nominated for an Emmy if you're into that kind of thing.
