April is here and spring has arrived in New York State! Although we are still dealing with frosty air and rain, the winter is finally behind us.

It seemed like March went on for more than a month even though some students had a break in the middle of the month.

But there are some schools who are waiting for a two week break that is coming this month and hopefully the weather will cooperate for those families that choose to stay in New York State for the break.

We are just days away from Easter and Passover and that means another break from learning at most schools in New York State. Here in Western New York State, the schools will be closed for at least a week but SOME of the districts that did not take a week off in March will be doubling up on the Easter/Spring break.

STATE REQUIREMENT

While this is exciting for the students, some parents might find a two week break tough to navigate with child care and time off from work. However, other families use the time to take an extended road trip or vacation somewhere.

The good news for all students and staff in New York State is that we are not that far away from the end of the school year and the summer break!
