Two WNY Wegmans Will Receive Limited Number of COVID-19 Vaccine

There are lots of questions surrounding the timeline for the COVID-19 vaccination of New York State residents, but there will be a chance for some to be vaccinated at two local Wegmans.

According to WIVB, nine Wegmans locations in New York State will receive a limited amount of the COVID-19 vaccine, with two of those stores here in Western New York.

The Wegmans locations at Alberta Drive and Sheridan Drive.

The vaccine will be distributed to those 75 years of age or older.

Senior Vice President of Wegmans John Carlo released this statement regarding the supply of the vaccine.

“We value this opportunity to help increase the vaccination rates in New York State and help control the COVID-19 pandemic as we all work toward the ultimate goal of achieving herd immunity throughout our communities. We understand there are many out there who are interested in receiving the vaccine as soon as possible, and we are working hard every day to be ready when vaccinations become available more broadly."

Those who qualify can make an appointment or call 1-800-207-6099. Wegmans says only those with an appointment and proper photo identification will be able to be vaccinated.
