Carjacking by Masked Group with Gun at Transit Road Wegmans

Wednesday night there was a very scary situation that happened at the Wegmans over on Transit Road in Williamsville. A woman posted on social media that there was a carjacking at gunpoint.

Even more intense, it was an entire group of masked individuals that were involved with the carjacking.

"Just witnessed a car jacking in the Wegmans parking lot on Transit. A group of masked men waited for her to come out, took her keys at gunpoint and drove off. I am one to shop at night and up until now have felt perfectly safe. Needles to say I don't anymore. Please be aware of your surroundings. The police said there have been more of this going as of late."

It is a massive problem here in Western New York with all of the cars that are being stolen. You do not really hear too many carjacking instances with the victims actually being involved. Usually, you hear of a ton of cars stolen but usually they are in the middle of the night (and sometimes not even at night) right out of people's driveways. The problem is that people that are stealing cars, who even caught, do not even have much punishment when it comes to stealing cars. Usually, they just ditch the car and hardly get caught.

It is a scary situation especially for women who have been in situations that not only involved cars. There have been a ton of reports of women calling the police because they feel followed at places like the Galleria Mall.
