WARNING: Tragic Reminder For Drivers In New York State
The summer road trip season is about to begin and there is a sad reminder to stay alert on the highways and the New York State Thruway this summer.
Recently, New York State extended the "Move Over Law" to include any vehicle that is on the side of the road. You are required to slow and move over to allow a safe distance between your vehicle and those on the shoulder.
As we get busy and the summer weather arrives, it is easy to get distracted. However, now more than ever we need to pay close attention or a dangerous accident will happen.

This week will start off on a somber note across New York State after a tragic accident that took place last week on the New York State Thruway.
According to reports, flags will fly at half-staff across the state today in honor of a Thruway Authority employee killed in a work zone last week. Vincent Giammarva was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer Thursday in the Town of Chili, near Rochester. Giammarva worked for the Thruway for nearly 20 years.
If you plan to drive on a road trip, or in your everyday travels, stay alert! For whatever reason, we all seem more distracted and distant than ever.
