Open Letter: I Don’t Care About Your Fantasy Football Team

Fantasy Football is huge these days. There are people at all levels playing in at least one league, some in multiple leagues. But I'm sorry to tell you, I don't care.

The worst thing about fantasy football

How many times has this happened to you already? You're watching the Bills game, and someone says something along the lines of "I want the Bills to win, but it would be pretty cool if Stroud could throw for at least 300 yards and two touchdowns. I started him this week in fantasy."

You can enter any quarterback's name in there. It doesn't have to be Stroud. But it's the most annoying thing in the world to me. You call yourself a Bills fan? You want the Bills to win, and you claim you're not rooting against them, but you're also rooting for their opponent?

I'm all for good sportsmanship. But come on...

Don't change the channel just to see updates on other games

Here's why I almost always ONLY watch the game at my house, or at the stadium. Have you ever gone to watch the game at someone else's house and during a commercial, they randomly change the channel just to check on other games?

What the heck are you doing?!? That's what God invented phones for! You want to check stats, don't go away from the Bills game to do it. We missed the first four minutes of the second half last week because of that!

You do you, but don't expect me to care

Listen, I don't care if you play fantasy football. If that makes you happy, go for it! All I'm saying is, don't expect me to care when you start talking about it. I don't.

And stop acting like you know everything about football and everyone else knows nothing because you've memorized stats from the players on your fantasy team. Try taking a couple of snaps on a field, then tell me about football.

You want to be a Bills fan? Awesome. Stop rooting for other players. We (those of us who could care less about fantasy football) don't care.

However, the punishments for people who lose in your league...now those are kind of funny.
