Starting on Monday, visitors to New York State will see some changes at the Welcome Centers along the highways in the state. The New York State Thruway Authority announced that operating hours at all three welcome centers will change on Monday, May 4th.

Big Changes For New York State Welcome Centers

Starting on Monday, May 4th, the times of operation at all three New York State welcome centers along the highways around New York State will change. The welcome centers will be open from 6 am until 10 pm seven days a week.

The three welcome centers are located at:

Capital Region Welcome Center - I-87 North between exits 21B and 21A
Mohawk Welcome Center - I-90 west between exits 28 and 29
Western New York Welcome Center - I-190 exit 19

The good news is that the other 27 service areas along the Thruway in New York State will still be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

New York State Announced MAJOR Pothole Filling Project

This is the summer of smoother roads in New York State. Earlier this year, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul announced a multimillion-dollar project to fix potholes across New York State.

215 different crews from the State DOT will spend the month of April placing more than 8,000 tons of asphalt to fill an anticipated 175,000 potholes statewide. Plans are also in place from the State to use the State DOT to fill hundreds of thousands more as the weather permits over the next several months as well.

This Is Worst Street For Potholes In New York State

In my opinion, the worst street for potholes in New York is Pearl Street between Court Street and Mohawk in downtown Buffalo, New York.
