Wednesday night, American Idol started it's 15th and final season in a commercially successful run that became a household name during its existence. Ryan Seacrest joined the TODAY Wednesday morning to discuss the final season of "American Idol,” and reflected on the iconic reality competition’s legacy. Then someone asked who he thought was the biggest American Idol of all time. Who do you think he said?

Carrie Underwood.

He didn't hesitate much before giving the TODAY show crew an answer and when one host suggested Kelly Clarkson, he made note that she's a superstar as well, but not as big as Underwood, in his opinion. She appeared with Seacrest on "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve" last week.
