WNY Has Been Given a Caution Flag, Says Governor Cuomo

Western New York was delivered a warning on Monday from Governor Andrew Cuomo, in regards to its recent uptick in COVID-19 cases.

According to WGRZ, the Western New York region has been given a caution flag from Governor Cuomo, because the region has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases and infection rate.

The reasons for the uptick in COVID-19 cases and infections, and the reason for the caution flag, are clusters at a steel plant in Erie County, as well as a processing factory in Chautauqua County.

There have also been new cases at two separate nursing homes -- which were identified by testing of staff.

Pre-hospital procedure screening and testing of seasonal labor at local farms were also outlined by the Governor.

Although Western New York has been given a caution flag for its recent increases in COVID-19, the state on a whole has continued to see good news.

Governor Cuomo said that the state is on its 17th-consecutive day of an infection rate below 1 percent.
