World Cup Hosted in 2 Locations Close to Buffalo, New York

Well, this is super cool.

If you have no heard. The United States will be hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2026. The world's largest and most prestigious sporting event will come close to Buffalo when the World Cup comes to North America. In fact, the be clear, the 'North America' team who won the winning hosting bid is the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The closest World Cup matches will be Toronto, Canada which is about 2.5 hours away from Buffalo and in New York City / New Jersey which is about 6.5 hours away.

Yesterday, FIFA, announced these will be the host cities for 2026:

What an awesome opportunity for Western New York to be able to drive to some of these matches. Western New York really does have a strong and loyal following of soccer, including some competitive teams. When do tickets go on sale for the World Cup in Toronto? When do tickets go on sale for  the World Cup in New York? FIFA announced that ticket information is not just yet on sale and that the World Cup ticket information is going to be avaliable in the future.

The World Cup in 2022 will be hosted in the country Qatar, which has stirred quite some controversy regarding the host country and its ethics and morals. Remember that the World Cup is hosted every 4 years.
