You've seen handicap reserved parking spaces. You may have seen expectant mother parking spaces. But I've never seen a sign like this before and I hope I see more of them.

It's a reserved parking sign for wounded warriors.  According to JDNews it's something that originated in Jacksonville, North Carolina after store manager Nicholas Pagliaro wanted to show his appreciation.  He put up two signs right next to the handicap spots and has received a ton of positive comments from them.

How could he not get great comments?  He's recognizing people who have made incredible sacrifices to our country.

The only problem that I could forsee with these signs is that there's no way to prove that the person parked in that spot belongs there.  At least at a handicap spot there are placards or indications on their license plates to prove if they belong there or not.  People abuse handicap spots all the time and I'm sure they' would abuse these too.  I would just hate to see them do it in front of anyone who is currently serving or has served in the military at any time in their life.  I'm sure it would be worse for them than any ticket that a police officer would leave for them.

Regardless, I would love to see this happen here in Western New York.  I'm not sure what it would take to make it happen but I'd love to see it get done.   They totally deserve it.
