The Eden Corn fest is back this weekend.  While you're there, you will have the opportunity to try one of the most unique dessert combinations ever.  Sweet Corn Ice Cream...

It's a strange combination that works so well together. - sweet corn and ice cream.

This concoction is the dream of Matt Agle who has been working on the flavor for the last 5 years.  If you've driven through Eden you might recognize his last name.  It's the name that graces a farm market that stands out on route 62 for the huge inflatable ear of corn out by the road.  His family has been farming for generations in Eden on the Henry W. Agle & Sons Farm and now, he's taking his family corn to a new level.

Agle said that he was looking for something unique to give his nieces and nephews for their birthdays and thought of this as a gift to share at birthday parties.  His days at Cornell in food science classes led him to this fusion of dairy and vegetables.

He's been working to perfect it ever since.  Now with the help of some other local businesses like Main Street Ice Cream in Hamburg, Amos Zittel & Sons corn, and Weidner's Chicken Barbeque, he's got a product that he's proud to share.

When I was offered the chance to sample it, I jumped at it.  It's very creamy and you can tell that it's made with real corn...because you can see real kernels the second you pick up your spoon to eat it.  It was delicious and will make an incredible treat on a hot day this weekend.

Want to give it a try?  It will be available this weekend at the Eden Corn Festival.  You'll find it at the Eden Chamber of Commerce Building until it's sold out.  Just look for the huge flag and the long line.
