5 Things You Don’t Want To Miss At The Eden Corn Fest
There is plenty of corn and a lot of "corn" themed events at the Eden Corn Fest, but did you know it's more than just that.
Yes, they have corn on the cob. They will be having corn husking competitions. They even play a huge corn hole tournament. But, no, it's not just corn.
While the corn there is on another level (somehow), the Eden Corn Fest has a bunch of stuff that you can check out.
The History of The Eden Corn Fest
According to their webpage, the Eden Corn Fest got started back in the 60's when a man named John Munich suggested to the Chamber of Commerce that they should hold an annual festival based around corn to make a little extra money for the town and gain a little publicity. They picked the weekend of August 15th and 16th because this would be the time of year when the corn would be the most tender, and they were off to the races.
The first year featured a carnival, corn judging and auction, a corn queen beauty contest, a pet show, a tug-of-war, and a parade.
Since the beginning, the Eden Corn Fest has been held on the grounds of the Newell Faulkner Post of the American Legion on Legion Drive and Route 62 in Eden, NY.
The Corn Fest Is Back Again For 2025
They're keeping with tradition again this year and holding the Eden Corn Fest once again at the grounds of the Newell Faulkner Post of the American Legion. It's happening this weekend from July 31st to Sunday, August 3rd. If you've never had the opportunity to experience it before, make this the year you check it out!
