You Won’t Get Your Taxes Back During The Government Shutdown
You STILL NEED TO FILE BY APRIL 15.
During a government shutdown, the IRS will accept and process payments and if you owe money you have to pay it by April 15th. The IRS keeps about 12.5% of its workforce, or 9,946 of its nearly 80,000 employees, according to its contingency plan.
The IRS will not, however, process refunds. They also won’t respond to questions from taxpayers.
Seems fair, right?
