The past week has been one that most Western New York residents would wish to forget.

There has been anywhere from 4-6 feet of snow that has fallen just south of the Buffalo metro. From South Buffalo to Angola, the snow has been non-stop since last Saturday. It's caused major headaches for those trying to get to work and run errands. Multiple travel bans have been implemented and snow cleanup continues in neighborhoods and secondary roads.

The thruway has been close to a nightmare with the lake effect snowstorms. On Friday, another accident took place and is causing massive traffic delays.

According to the New York State Police, the I-90 westbound between exit 59 and exit 60 is completely blocked due to a tractor trailer accident, with minor injuries. All lanes are currently blocked off.

Traffic is being diverted to exit 58, which is Silver Creek.

If you planned on traveling in this direction in the near future, plan on an alternate route. Hopefully, it's cleared sooner than later.

As for the snow, all of Western New York will deal with general snowfall today, which will result in minor accumulations. The snow finally comes to an end on Saturday, after a full week of snowfall. It's truly remarkable just how much snow this region has seen over the past seven days.

We probably won't be fully back to normal for another few days. Crews will be working to remove excess snowfall, so be cautious driving around the Buffalo area. Be patient with crews who are working to clear roadways.
