What’s the best thing to drink when it’s hot and you’re thirsty?

I think most people will go with water….bottled water, out of the tap, even out of the hose if you’re thirsty enough.  A survey of people say they like to flavor their water with a lemon wedge, sometimes lime.
But plenty of other people say they like lemonade, iced tea….or a combination of both.  Fruit juices were
mentioned, soft drinks.  A good portion of people said beer.

This past week with the heat and humidity nothing really seemed to quench my thirst.  I was looking for something different and couldn’t think of anything.

So I came across an article about how they beat the hot weather in Dubai where the temperature often is over 100 degrees with high humidity.  It’s watermelon juice.  It’s how the people in Dubai quench their thirst.

Watermelon is basically water anyway.  One person said it was if their body was being cleansed and restored.  And it had a cooling effect like no other drink had done before.

There’s very little acidity like citrus juices. It’s a great source of potassium, lycopene to help lower the risk of some cancers and heart disease and has Vitamins A, B6 and C.

I don’t know of anywhere where you can buy watermelon juice other than just buying a watermelon and making your own.
