Maybe he’s tearing a page from the formula Tony Stewart used last year – just keep winning, especially when they mean so much. Brad Keselowski is the leader in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship after winning for the second time in three races. Keselowski had just enough fuel to hold on to the lead and hold off Jeff Gordon to take the victory at Dover International Speedway. It’s his fifth win of the season.

Jimmie Johnson came in fourth and fell into second place in the standings, five points back of Keselowski.

Denny Hamlin finished eighth and stands third after three races, 16 points back.

Johnson and Hamlin had the two best cars on the track. They just didn’t have the fuel to go all out. Johnson had to slow down over the final laps while Hamlin was forced into the pits for gas with only 10 laps to go.

For Johnson it could have been a record eighth career victory. Hamlin had the pole and was looking for his first career victory at Dover.

Seven races left. Next week it’s Talladega.
