In case you were wondering if the pit got fed this weekend before the Buffalo - Kansas City game at Highmark Stadium…we have the answer for you.

It’s been a running joke of a tradition throughout the season that every home game for the Buffalo Bills, there is at least one person who has to be pulled out of the pit across the street.

Of course, that pit marks the spot for the new stadium build, which has undergone construction for the last several months. Crews have to dig a “pit” to get ready to lay the foundation for the new stadium, and this is the first season that has caused the Bills Mafia to be a bit adaptable when it comes to available parking and travel routes.

Which means…it is also the first season where we had a sacrificial pit.

Started by a 29-year-old man at the first home game of the season, many people followed his example by continuing the tradition of jumping into the pit (though highly discouraged).

And in case you were hoping that tradition would last through the post-season – you can breathe a sigh of relief.

It looks like the pit was indeed fed this weekend at Highmark Stadium before the Buffalo Bills - Kansas City game on Sunday.

I’ll jump through a folding table any day, but sacrifice myself to the pit? Hard pass on that one.
