On Saturday, June 9, 2012, my wife, Debbie, participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2012. She is not by any means a runner, but joined the Fleet Feet Buffalo's No Boundaries 5K Training Program to help her prepare for the race
Over the course of the last six to nine months we have been collecting autographs from all the country music stars that have come through Western New York. Artists like Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Kid Rock and more have all signed a special Roswell Park pink acoustic guitar. Each $10 donation you make to this special Country Music Inspires Cures campaign equals another chance to win this one-of-a-kind guitar. Each donation will go toward breast cancer research here at Roswell Park.
Boy can Martina still knock it out of the park. One of the best female voices that country music has ever had....if you ask me! Here is a small portion of CMT's Invitation Only featuring Martina McBride. In the video, she performs her latest single "I'm Gonna Love You Through It."
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and if you haven't already heard it, Martina McBride has an incredible song out that deals specifically with people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and the family members who have supported them.
BREAST CANCER..the two words scare the daylights out of every woman. They scare the heck out of us guys too. I know, as I have watched and helped my wife through it not once, but twice over the last 4 years.
Do you know a Breast Cancer survivor, health care proffesional or volunteer that has worked to improve the lives of cancer patients, find a cure or raise awareness for this cause? Nominate them for either the Faith, Hope or Love Award. Awards will be presented at the 10th Annual Susan G. Komen Survivor Luncheon May 7th at the Buffalo Convention Center. Click here to nominate someone you know.

Two days ago we received the news that Elizabeth Edwards had been advised to quit treatment for cancer when she found that it had spread to her liver. Today we find that she has passed away in her home.
