I’m totally disappointed to hear that Eddie Murphy will not host the Academy Awards after all.  Today Eddie withdrew as host of the show after his creative partner; Brett Ratner resigned as the show’s producers.

I only caught a few minutes of the awards show last night.  I really enjoyed the Kirk Douglas portion.  I thought he was not only funny but very courageous to get up there given the current physical condition he is in.  The show itself kind of bores me year after year.

The 2011 Oscar nominations were announced this morning in Beverly Hills, and there are no real surprises this year.  “Black Swan”, “The fighter”, “Inception”, “The Kids Are All Right”, “The King’s Speech”, “127 Hours”, “The Social Network”, “True Grit”, “Winter’s Bone” and “Toy Story 3” all received nods for best picture.
