Ron Rolston will take over as the Buffalo Sabres interim head coach for the rest of the season. Rolston is the coach of the Sabres farm team, the Rochester Americans, and has met the Sabres players already as of Wednesday night (February 20).
Terry Pegula has been a breath of fresh air for the entire city of Buffalo since he got here almost two years ago. He has taken on the promise of taking the Buffalo Sabres to the next level, and he is not stopping at just our beloved hockey team.
Let me preface this blog by telling you that I am more of a casual Buffalo Sabres fan. I like the team and I watch them but I don't live and die with them like many of my friends. I have been to two Sabres games in the past week and had a great time at each of them...
I couldn't be more excited for this season of Buffalo Sabres hockey. It's apparent how much has already been put into this team and I'm looking to see what Terry Pegula gets out of them. It's hard to hold back excitement for the Buffalo Sabres. They get a new owner and it's like a breath of fresh air. Suddenly the arena is getting updates, it's even got a new name, players are waiving no trade clauses to come here, and they've taken the excitement that we already had for our beloved Sabres and amped it up to 11. Wednesday, they gave some fans a new reason to get excited.

It was first called 'Crossroads Arena'. Then in 1996 its name was changed to 'Marine Midland Arena'. Three years later in 1999 the name changed to 'HSBC Arena' and now the building that The Buffalo Sabres call home is going to be called something else again.
Sabres owner, Terry Pegula, is taking names and kicking...well, you know. Since his arrival the King of Sabreland has installed hope and excitement all throughout this team and city. He wants to win. BAD. The King has proved it again yesterday that he is indeed ready to rock and roll.
The new front office of the Sabres said that they would be aggressive this offseason. They've backed up that promise by acquiring the rights to former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Christian Ehrhoff.
