It was a long game for the men's basketball team from Champion Baptist College, as they were beaten by Southern University by 104 points on Monday night.

True, it was like David v. Goliath. However, the team and school have gained some recognition, and at least they can say they didn't lose by the record amount.

The record for biggest spread in a points was set in 1997. According to SportingNews.com:

At least Champion Baptist kept Southern from ringing up the biggest margin of victory in Division I history. That mark belongs to Long Island University, which beat Medgar Evers, 179-62, on Nov. 26, 1997.

The final score of Monday's game was Southern 116, Champion Baptist 12. I imagine the hard part for any coach is trying to motivate your team after a loss like that.
